UKTC Annual meeting 2026
26-27 March 2026
Pollock Estate, South Hall, Edinburgh, UK
The 2026 UKTC annual meeting will be held in Edinburgh, Scotland, on 26th and 27th March 2026.
The meeting will start at 10am on the first day and will end at 4pm on the second day. There will be a dinner organised on the first day, in the lovely Playfair Library Hall.
The meeting will consist of one keynote lecture, oral presentations, one panel session and an interactive poster session.
Location of the meeting: Pollock Estate in the South Hall.

Panel discussion about the future of turbulence/fluids/HPC funding in the UK with Spencer Sherwin (Imperial College), Ignazio Maria Viola (University of Edinburgh), Stefano Rolfo (STFC), Mark Parsons (EPCC).

Instructions for posters:
-Print your poster before the meeting.
-Posters should be A0 portrait format.
- Each presenter must prepare a one-slide PowerPoint presentation for a one-minute flash talk (followed by an interactive poster session). The flash talk will be in the same order as the list of posters in the programme. We will then assemble all the slides, so that there are no delays during the flash talks. Please send your slide to s.laizet @ imperial.ac.uk BEFORE the meeting.
Instruction for oral presentation:
-Bring your own laptop for the presentation
-Aim for a presentation of 12 to 13 minutes to have 3 to 2 minutes of questions. Each oral presentation slot is 15 minutes.
UKTC ARCHER2 users are expected to present their work at the meeting with an oral presentation or a poster (only a title and a short 250-word abstract are required for the registration).
Expense Claims for the Annual Meeting
The UKTC will cover the costs of attending the meeting for its members and their students (up to two hotel nigh per person, max £111 per room per night, and economy train/flight tickets).
The expense claim form is here. Please ensure you complete all relevant sections and that your claim complies with UKRI regulations. Claims must be submitted within three months. For Imperial employees, please follow the internal procedure in your Department and get in touch with Sylvain Laizet to get the account to be charged.
